August 2017 Reads

This month I chose this photo because books and
the library really saved me when I was a child.

Aug 50 Beartown Fredrik Backman
51 The Heart's Invisible Furies John Boyne
52 1222 Anne Holt
53 The Last Ballad Wiley Cash
54 Plainsong Kent Haruf
55 Another Brooklyn Jacqueline Woodson

Only six books this month but they were all great reads. I did a bit of travel to Iceland, it was a tour and I didn't have much reading time for a couple of weeks.

I'll occaisionally re-read a favorite book; this month is was Plainsong.  I love Haruf's writing and Plainsong is outstanding.  Beartown, The last Ballad and Another Brooklyn are all wonderful novels and well worth reading.

1222 is classic Anne Holt.  Holt is Norways best-selling female crime-writer for a good reason.  This one is full of suspense.
What are you reading?
